Mobile Gov Dialogue Highlights: Week 1
Agency reps and other interested parties have been sharing their thoughts, experiences and ideas for Mobile Gov and voting on their favorite suggestions on the Mobile Gov Dialogue. Here are some highlights from this week:
“Create repositories of mobile website templates and lessons learned, highlight outstanding examples of mobile sites and apps,” suggests Kevin T. of Kentucky. Kevin echoes what many agencies are looking for–centralized data for the best approaches to implementing Mobile Gov.
“Start small/simple, you can always enhance your mobile product later,” suggests Loren F. Agencies should remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day. If they start simple, they can always build mobile projects out.
“Data. Mobile apps are all about open data. Make more data available and mobile apps will get built. Even in a ‘data vacuum’, mobile developers are working very hard to capture and scrape as much data as they can to build apps,” says Sid from Oklahoma. If agencies have their data publicly available on sites like Data.gov, they may be able to rely on entrepreneurs to help build Mobile Gov in their agencies.
You can suggest or comment and vote on these ideas in the Mobile Gov Dialogue until September 2nd.
